Services and Fees

While I do not accept insurance at this time, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance provider, who may reimburse you for part or all of the session fee. Even if your insurance company does not offer out-of-network benefits, you should still ask them if they do Single-Case Agreements (SCA). SCAs are used when an in-network provider is not available for your presenting problem, either because no one specializes in the disorder/treatment or if all in-network providers with that specialty are full and/or have a long waitlist. If your insurance company approves an SCA, you will still need to pay for sessions up-front, but will reimbursed by your insurance company.

This clinic is committed to providing quality mental health care to as many community members as possible, so I can offer a reduced fee option on a sliding scale to those in need with proof of income.

Group Therapy

DBT Skills Group

DBT skills are well-suited to treating difficulties with emotion regulation, interpersonal conflict, feeling overwhelmed by extreme emotions, and impulsivity. The skills are organized into four modules: 1) Emotion Regulation, 2) Mindfulness, 3) Distress Tolerance, 4) Interpersonal Effectiveness. The group session is 90 minutes long and takes place weekly. Group participation typically lasts 6 months to 2 years.

Individual Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Teaches strategies to increase engagement in meaningful activities, face fears that are interfering with your daily life, and overcome unhelpful patterns of thinking. This approach includes exposure therapy, thought challenging, and behavioral activation among other techniques, and is well-suited for anxiety and mood disorders.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Aims to reduce life-threatening and quality-of-life interfering behaviors by enhancing skills in distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. When appropriate, I can offer full-model DBT, which includes individual therapy, group skills training, and phone coaching.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Aims to reduce suffering and enhance sense of joy and meaning through mindfulness of the present moment, acceptance, and detachment from unhelpful thoughts, clarification of values, and committed action towards values-aligned behavior.

Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy

PE and CPT are front-line treatments for trauma that emphasize getting “unstuck” from maladaptive beliefs, coping with trauma-related memories and emotions, and re-engaging in meaningful life activities.

General Information: Ongoing therapy sessions are 50-55 minutes. I typically see patients once weekly, although this can be tailored to meet your needs. The overall duration of your treatment will depend on the nature of your presenting problems and treatment goals. However, a typical course of treatment lasts from six months to two years.

Couple Therapy

Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT)

Helps couples to balance acceptance and change within the relationship. Highlights acceptance of individual differences in who partners are as people, while aiming to change the ways that couples communicate and interact to promote greater intimacy and closeness. Couple therapy sessions are 55 minutes. I typically see couples once weekly. The overall duration of your treatment will depend on the nature of your presenting problems and treatment goals.
